Agovia is the website of Chris Kaufman. He focuses on producing compositional pieces using materials and methods learned about in early childhood. This honors the concept that the most important element of human artistic expression is the crafting of external artifacts to represent our ideas and imagination, rather than expensive equipment and media.
The compositional approach also solves the challenges created when two key factors collide: A driving desire to create objects which evoke recognition and thought in those who see them. And the fact that, really, Chris can't draw for beans. You work with what you've got.
